Apart from a few 1000's wheel barrow loads of silt in the culvert under SH1 the new "tunnel track" linking the Helistar carpark with the MTB tracks at Craters of the Moon, is just about done.

2 new bridges and a tyre retaining wall later, the Track Crew has put in an awesome effort over the last two weekends. Go and check it out (you might still have to lower your seat in the 61m long tunnel and/or face a few scrapes on the top of your helmet)!

Read on to see some photos.....

Most of the underpass track now known as the "The Tunnel"  has been built.  You can ride from Huka cafe (starts at the big white sign ) over to the Craters road (beside the power pole) the tunnel is still not cleaned out and we still have to widen the track in places on the eastern side this will be done before the tunnel get cleaned out.

We will  be having a working bee to clean the tunnel and will need a lot of people to help..  We will run a sweep stake for fun on the day as to how long it take so bring two bucks  we will send aot a Email when we get the date and time set

If you use the underpass in the mean time  please remember its a two way track and watch out for others
