Taupo riders featured prominently in last weekends
Napier round of the 2005 Mid North Island MTB Champs, which also included the
Hawkes Bay School Champs.
Six riders representing Taupo-Nui-A Tia college
competed in the Cross Country Champs, and Scott Cowie entered the
Downhill event.
In the Under 16 Boys 10km race, an exciting sprint
finish saw Jeremy Barr and Cameron Hollamby finish 3rd and 4th behind a Rotorua
rider who snatched 2nd place. Michael Spedding finished 7th. Jesse Loe won her U16 Girls 10km event
convincingly.
The U19 boys raced 20km with Cole Harris just
finishing behind a Tokoroa rider for 2nd place and Cameron Wood finishing
7th.

Mid North Island MTB Championships which have been held in Taupo, Tokoroa, Rotorua and
Napier. Again Taupo riders took honours, winning 3 of the categories. It was a

ride 40km.
