Dear Editor
To follow on from Bike Taupos
recent news release regarding track development through some town gully
systems, Bike Taupo would like to
acknowledge the outstanding efforts and support of some individuals and
businesses.
Its obviously not ‘newsy’
enough to mention these people (as planned) in a news release but in reality
without their support there would be no track development through our town
gullies. So here goes
Big thanks to Taupo Moana Rotary Club and their generous funding
for this large project. Martin at Lake Hire for reduced
digger hire and our Bike Taupo
member / digger driver Pete McFarlane - this guy knows how to build a
track!
Dave Bramley Builders for
building any bridge or structure required. Placemakers for providing building supplies at a reduced cost. Mark at Tenon for the posts for
signage. Chris Todd, Thunes Cloete,
Fraser Scott and Colin Lunn of Taupo
District Council for their ongoing wisdom, advice and negotiations in
matters of planting, track routing and stormwater. Phil Battersby, Ian Gray and Dave Smith of Cheal
Consultants for their engineering assistance.
Ill say it again, such important community projects just cannot happen
without the generosity of individuals and businesses like these. So THANKS and may Bike
Taupos relationship with you all continue to prosper as
together we continue to provide for a healthier community.
