There was just a bit of Scottish Mist at starting time, and 43 teams lined up on the starting grid.  Two hours into the event some rain set in, and softened the course.  But everyone seemed to have a great time none-the-less, and the atmosphere was friendly.  Some fast times were posted, for this 8 km figure-8 course, with plenty of spectator viewing.

Thanks to Raewyn Taylor and Life Cycles for sponsorship of this event.  They provided some great value spot prizes - it was worth the wee huddle in the rain, for those tyres, computer and other really useful stuff.  And Raewyn took a major role in running the lap scoring system, which is never a pleasant job on a wet day.

Collectively the 73 riders participating rode  274 laps, a total distance of 2192 km.  No wonder you felt tired!
