Temporary Track Closure PDF Print

We have temporarily closed the track from Kinloch to Whakaipo Bay

We had not anticipated that the track would be so popular and had planned that people would park near the shop. Unfortunately the number of cars parking in Boojum Dell is causing major problems for the residents and this will only get worse over the Xmas holidays.

In the meantime we are trying to find another option for the start of the track in Kinloch. This basically means finding a way to avoid the track going near Boojum Dell so that people dont park there.  If we can do that, then the track will be reopened.

But there is some good news. Bike Taupo is starting construction of the track from the Whakaipo Bay end on Thursday
morning (6 Dec). There is a lot of work to do on this side and this will give us time to work with the Kinloch community to find a solution that works for everyone.

Please respect the track closure. There is plenty of good riding elsewhere and attempting to ride the track while it is closed will only make the task of finding a solution so much harder.
