The new See-Saw

Hi and Happy New Year!

Great to see lots of bikers out and about.

Looking at the tracks they have been getting hammered, (Rotary Ride has had a lot of riders on it) and without the rain they have cut out in places.
We have been hard pushed at times to keep up with the blackberry growth but have just about got it under control again.

Hope people are enjoying the odd change we have done, the end of the Rotary Ride is much better now, and the work on the Tourist Trap seems to be getting a thumps up from the locals.

The board walks on The Buzzard has been the undoing of the odd rider, endo from the middle is the best we have heard off, and a few others have been helping with the maintenance by crushing the blackberries at the bottom of the first one. They are a lot faster than the pumice so go onto to them slower.
We had to put them in to fix problem areas, but at the same time we dont want to dumb the track down. Buzzard is a grade 4 track please dont treat it lightly.

Coles Killer is closed at the moment due to thinned trees all over it. We will sort it out over the nest few months.

W2K is up to 2.5 Kms from the Whakaipo Bay end. Great views and a nice ride under the native bush check it out:
Go to the end of the bay look for the new style (Many thanks to John the farmer for building such a bike friendly one), follow the new track under the big Poplar trees and head up the paddock for 150 meters - you will see our signs - jump the fence (cattle stop coming ) and then hit the track.
We need you to ride it to pack it down, so more the better, plus its a good training hill at the moment. We may need a working bee in a few weeks when we get out by the bluffs, but will let people know by email.

The other news is we have put in a See Saw and plank ride
(see photos below) on a little track of Cork Screw. Thanks to Banga for building them and Len for being the crash tester!

Take it easy the first time you try them, go slowly over the See Saw!

Cheers
