We were so lucky with the weather!� We just could not have wished for a better day - cloudless blue sky and light breezes, though the air was cold after an early frost.

There was a large turnout, 82 Teams comprised of 128 riders.� And it was great to see so many families and young folk taking part.

The MTB tracks were in great condition, thanks to the good people of Bike Taupo.� The pumice soils are just great at this time of the year, drying off quickly after any rain in the days prior.

Thanks to Raewyn Taylor and Life Cycles for sponsorship of this event.� They provided some great value spot prizes - helmets, computers, pumps and lots of other cycling stuff!� You should check out their shop at 16 Oruanui Street, Taupo.� And Raewyn took a major role in running the event, managing the lap scoring system for 4 hours straight.

Collectively the 128 riders completed 519 laps, which totals up to 4671 kilometers. No wonder you felt tired!
