Track Crew News - February 2010
No moaning about the dust, nothing like the odd light shower to dampen down the tracks and make them much nicer to ride.
Ferguson’s track coming up from the Huka flats is now open. This new loop from Hub Caf down the Te Totara Gully to Huka Flats and back up Ferguson's, is one of our hidden gems - off road all the way and most of it is under the trees with bridges and great single track in native bush, nice way to finish of a local ride.
Remember Te Totara Gully has very steep drop off's - so don’t make a mistake!
Thinning crew have finished in the Outback area given it quite a different feeling check it out.
We are doing some realignment to the Rotary Ride over the next two years as funding allows. The aim is to ease out the climbs to make it more user friendly to the newer riders and also improve the entry and exits plus widen out the down hill parts.
Keep sending in track damage/fallen trees reports (TXT: 027 497 7832 or 027 248 6427 or

). PLEASE don’t just climb over the fallen trees and think that we have been told - we just can’t get around all the tracks and getting the reports saves us a lot of time and keeps the tracks open for everybody to enjoy.
Remember that logging is taking place in the Day-Nighter tracks so please stay out of the Patuiwi forest and expect to get slight delays on the Rotary Ride during working hours.
