Bike to School initiative on Wednesday mornings increased every time, with about 60 on the last one. Even the Bike racks are fuller now, the principal says.

Fun Ride or a Bike To Work (if you live out that way)
LAKE EDGE TO WHAREWAKA POINT (there and back ride – you can turn around at any time!)
- Tongariro Street in front of the Information Centre (I-Site)
- Head South through the South Domain park (behind Super Loo building)
- Cross Redoubt Street onto Great Lake Walkway (cobbles) WATCH FOR PEDESTRIANS AND GIVE WAY
- Cycle along lake front past Steaming Bean Coffee Cart (2kms)
- Around past the front of Scout Den (2.2kms) past Copthorpe Manuels
- Veer right at the Lake Edge Time Share Resort following path around to Sailing Centre (another coffee stop) (4kms)
- Keep heading South past 2-Mile Bay boat ramp along lake edge to Secombe Park (3-Mile Bay boat ramp) (5kms)
- Head through Secombe Park to towards Wharewaka Point (8 kms) Here, there are toilet facilities, swimming, bbq area and a children’s park.
- To Return to I-site (16 kms)
