Bike Taupo has approached Opus regarding the issue with the off-ramp on Control Gates Bridge and we are working to getting it sorted.

A big thank you to Transit NZ and everyone involved in building the cycle lane, which made the Control Gates Bridge a lot safer for cyclists.

BUT unfortunately this nice and safe crossing comes to an aprupt end, when merging back into the traffic at the WORST possible location (see photo below). We are talking about varioud alternatives and will keep you posted.
