Bike Taupo - PUMP WATER / TAUPO PAK N SAVE PUMP TRACK NATIONALS

The Taupo Mountain Bike Club in conjunction with Taupo Pak N’ Save and their trusty friends Coca-Cola (Pump Water) and Wide Open Distributors are proud to present NZ’s first ever Pump Track nationals Sunday 28th November 2010 ( morning after Round the lake cycle challenge / Huka Challenge ). The event will go as follows: Registration from 9.00am; briefing 9.45am; start 10.00am. Age groups 6-10 years; 11-16 years; 17-35 years; 36+ years and a 3 person team event. Each age category will have heats and finals. Heats will consist of 4 laps (2 clockwise, 2 anti clockwise) whereby cumulative times will be recorded. The top 5 riders for each age category will progress to the age group finals where a one off fastest lap will see you crowned age group champion. The 3 person teams race will be a pursuit type race (all riders on the track at once) timed from front of front wheel to back of back wheel (Yeeeah haaaa!) Great prizes will be given for age group champions, fastest age group lap and fastest team. The overall individual fastest lap time will be crowned The Pump Water / Taupo Pak N’ Save 2010 Pump Track Champion. A great spot prize will also be on offer to all paid entrants… A PIMPED UP PUMP / JUMP BIKE WORTH $2500… YOU GOTTA BE IN IT TO WIN IT! Lunch will be had at 12pm and Kids/Dads Runner bike event will take place just for some fun. Finals will be straight after lunch, prize giving will follow and all should be done by 2pm. The club will be providing music, food, BBQ and heaps of Pump Water to give away. So come along, support the club, have some fun, learn to ride, sharpen your skills and carve up the O-some track!
