Mid North Island Cup 2010
Round 2 - Taupo Sunday 21st November
The 6th annual Mid-North Island Cup (M-NIC), to be held over November-December, 2010 at the popular Central North Island mountain bike destinations of Tokoroa, Taupo, Rotorua & Hawkes Bay.
Round 2 takes place in Wairakei Forest on Sunday 21st November and is brought to you by the Taupo Mountain Bike Club. This round will be an honest multi-lap race.

The entry fee for the Taupo round is a low $25 (discounted entry fee $20 for Taupo MTB club members), and you will get a well run event, 100% all-weather single track and lots of great spot prizes.

For those familiar with our tracks the lap will be as follows:
Tank stand > Grinder > Deb’s Track > Buzzard > Missing Link > Tank Stand (bottom section) > Outback (first part to Lane Way) > Slalom > Walter’s Wiggles.

Categories for the M-NIC series are as follows:
Junior Boys (U15) * Junior Girls (U15) * Junior Men (U19) * Junior Women (U19) * Open Men (19 - 29) * Open Women (19 - 29) * Vet 1 Men (30 - 40) * Vet 2 Men (40+) * Vet Women (30+)

The Wairakei Forest venue will be sign-posted off SH1, between Taupo and Wairakei, near The Hub Cafe / Helistar. Registration opens at 9:00am and racing begins at 10:00am. Enter on the day only.

Further details.
The M-NIC is a low-key cross-country series ideal for competitors new to the sport, or new to competition, thru to those in training for the MTBNZ National Series or further international competition.

Each round is run independently by the local host club, consisting of either multi-lap or single loop races. Competitors either pre-enter or enter on-the-day at each event separately, with the three (3) best round results counted for final overall series points.
To be eligible for the series, competitors must start the final (in Napier).
Trophies are awarded to 1st place, medals to 2nd & 3rd in each category at the finals prize-giving.

Mark it in your event calendar & be there!
