PUMP TRACK NATIONALS 2010 WRAP
The inaugural Pump Track Nationals was a massive hit over the weekend. Special thanks to our major sponsors TAUPO PAK N' SAVE and WIDEOPEN DISTRIBUTORS for their fantastic support of the event. Their spot prizes and place getters prizes were greatly appreciated by all riders. Money could not buy the smile off Josh Osbourne?s face when he realised he had won the major spot prize... a $2500.00 jump bike! Congratulations Josh. We hope to see you out on the pump track giving that bike death. Thanks to Karl from Coca Cola for all the free pump water. It was much appreciated given the heat. Thanks to Corey from Tip Top Bread for putting on the BBQ. Thanks to Dave Rose from Descend Rotorua for providing a state of the art timing system. Thanks also to AG Scaffolds Taupo for supplying the awesome roll in ramp. And finally thanks to all riders and supporters of our first ever Pump Track event. The Taupo Mountain Bike Club looks forward to continued success with similar events in the future.
Congratulations to Des Curry (17-35 years) our overall winner with a smoking hot time of 0:35.77 for our final lap. 2nd place went to local lad Mason Bryant (11-16 years) in a time of 0:36.23, and 3rd place Kurt James (17-35 years) at 0:36.93. Congratulations to all place getters in the various age categories.
