Round 4 - Race 3: The Grand Finale

Thursday 10th March concluded a revamped version of the ever-popular Taupo Summer Series.

The Series was extended to a 12 week series.

It was so hotly contested that some members were asking for it to be extended through to the end day light saving - YEAH RIGHT!

Thanks to local sponsors Huka Cycles & Pack & Pedal for their support of this series.

Thanks also to Mark Durrant of 1st Choice Engravers & Badges for his donations of medals & trophies.

This year the committee thought it would recognise our up and coming young talent.

So it was decided that any under 12 year old who attended six or more of our races would be acknowledged.

So well done to Flynn Fierro, Matthew Lockett, Jacob Klein, Lenny Schwarz, Thomas Martin, Hamish Hart, Finn Giddy, Olivia Flight, Jessica Clarke, Sarah Clarke, Ruby Flight, Emma Horn & Indianna Fierro (absent).

Special merit to riders Greta Donaldson for best female endurance rider (2 lapper), Warren Bartlett for best up and coming rider (13 years old) and Jake Tomblin (9 years old) for attendance of all 12 races.

Thats what its all about folks!

The Clover Points Race Held on 17th April will be our next club event.

Next Sunday (20th) March there will be a club social ride of Tree Trunk Gorge. This will have 17km and 50km loop options. Meet at the Shell Station in Turangi 9.00am Sharp.
