Its forever changing out there and the latest will get you on your bikes investigating!!!!! We are forever thinking of ways to make riding in Wairakei more enjoyable for you ... click on "Read More" below for the low down!

on

•         Redwoods Theres now a bridge on the track leading up from Huka Falls end towards Kevs track.  It was pretty boggy in there but not any more with wood to tread over!!

•         Groundeffect Grinder - if it didnt last long enough - well its been extended right to the entrance of the Buzzard no need to pedal over the dirt road no more!

•         Young Pines - Theres now a new entrance to this fast fun track.  Pedal up that yawn of a dirt road to the entrance? NO WAY, now head into the trees next to the gate and wind your way in.  We cant believe how much you guys have been riding those Young Pines.  The track is getting pretty slick and fast.  Just remember the track goes clockwise - would hate for you to go the wrong way and have collisions!

•         Carpark to Corkscew -  will shortly be changed incorporating a culvert from the carpark under the horse trek track and straight into the forest to wind its way towards the original corkscrew track.  The more we can avoid horse contact the better!! The culvert will also help with extending the track for races since we can avoid collisions with horses.

Winter Night Riding - Remember darkness does not stop the keen mountainbiker.  Open up a whole new world of riding by night.  Get your light system organised now.  Groups meet most Wednesdays at 5:30pm and Thursdays.  Heres a quizz question: WHO was the wellknown Bike Taupo committee member who damaged ribs during a crash on a night ride while riding with no lights on?  Why ride with no lights on? Because when boys go riding testosterone rules and when one says "lets turn out lights out for this part" why not! Email your answer to us .

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Martin at Taupo Lake Hire for your endless support with the sponsored hiring of diggers.  It all helps with getting our thought patterns into action!
